Black Press Media is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to join our Events team, located in Surrey, B.C.
As one of our fastest growing divisions, the Events team produces recruitment and lifestyle shows throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
We are seeking an ideal candidate with a proven track record in sales, particularly within the events industry, exceptional communication abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for solution-driven sales strategies. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a thriving events division
- Manage a business-to-business client base of $1 million in annual revenue
- Identify potential opportunities to grow our events calendar and customer base
- Collaborate with the Canadian division leadership team to deploy robust marketing bundles and present industry-leading events
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in business-to-business sales, preferably in an event or exhibit focused environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with clients
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on collaboration
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve and exceed sales targets
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Business, marketing or communications diploma or degree an asset
This position comes with an excellent remuneration package that includes base, commissions and bonus starting at $70,000, with potential bonus at $25,000 annually. You will also receive competitive group benefits plan. Free parking onsite.
