Black Press Media is looking for a Multimedia Editor to join our North Thompson/Cariboo news team.
Located in the town of Barriere, this position combines the career-building opportunities that Black Press Media can provide along with the charm of working in a small town nestled in the North Thompson Valley. Located just 65 kilometres from the city of Kamloops, Barriere boasts fantastic scenery and is the ultimate location for an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys camping, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
This position is ideal for someone with a passion for community storytelling and news coverage and an appreciation of multimedia platforms including digital, social, and paper.
Preference is given to applicants with formal journalism accreditation but a background in communications or social media is also an asset.
The Barriere Star Journal Editor will be supported by a Regional Editor as well as a Group Publisher.
A valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and smartphone are required. Work schedules are flexible and are adjusted based on newsroom needs.
